Who is Jim Rome?

The other day I was walking with Jill, a self proclaimed BYU fan and I mentioned that Bronco Mendenhall was going to be on Jim Rome. Her response caught me off guard, "Who's Jim Rome?" All day long I shook my head and heard the question over and over. I told Todd about it and he couldn't believe it either. I truly had no idea that other people didn't know who Jim is, so I want you all to know who he is to me...

I was introduced to Jim by Todd, shortly after we were married.

When Camille was 3 years old she knew enough about Jim that she made up a song about him to sing to her Daddy, it went something like this "Jim Rome, Jim Rome.." with her little voice raising octaves. How sweet.

When we drive anywhere with Todd we get to listen to The Jungle, we all enjoy this, except for me and the kids.

When we drove to Georgia Todd had a print out of all of the stations and times of the Jim Rome show, so we didn't miss anything:) Jim really knows how to take a subject and examine it from every angle, over and over again! Todd could tell you all of the details, but what I remember is that a head coach for a College team was caught with a prostitute (or two). It really turned out to be entertaining, it was years ago but I still remember Destiny of the Caribbean (her name was Destiny and apparently she was tan, wrinkly and old, so "Destiny of the Caribbean" was her nickname thanks to Jim), and Roll Tide Roll. Yeah, you had to be there.

Todd spends a lot of time in his truck and he tries to plan his appointments so he can be in his truck during the show. I'm pretty sure that we talk about Jim everyday, this explains why I knew Bronco was going to be on the show. In a way Jim is one of Todd's best friends and he is always telling me about him, I haven't met him in person, but he is very much a part of our lives! I thought that he was best friends with everybody else's husbands too! I guess not. What a shocker!!

In summary... Jim is in my husbands truck every day, brought up in conversation almost everyday, and I'm just finding out that this isn't normal. I think that THAT is just so shocking and embarrassing and funny- I live in a special place, my husband is a CLONE.

I prefer the "Pardon the Interruption" guys on ESPN. Jim Rome has never done it for me. Sorry, Todd. :P

I am happy to say I have no clue who Jim Rome is. Lucky for me Paul doesn't watch or listen to sports. Or maybe that is unlucky for me as he is gone fishing instead.

That's so funny, when I read this to Johnny he started laughing and told me that Todd listens to him all the time at the offie.

This is Todd...I have to correct Stacey. I am NOT a clone. I am married, I have a job, I shower daily, I do not collect cans for money, I am not addicted to porn, I do not sit at a cubicle for work and email and text Rome all day with stupid comments about the topics of the day. I just listen, laugh, and love my 3 hour daily dose of Romey Rome! One more time...I AM NOT A CLONE!! (Obviously I listen a little more than Stacey)

I am trying to control the convulsions of laughter! I HATE being stuck in a car with Jeramy and Jim! I feel your pain Stac-but not quite to the same extent. I would recommend some therapy for Todd---estrogen,maybe?
